PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device, eliminating the wasteful supply of power to a heating means, and preventing a fixing roller from being heated above a predetermined temperature required for fixing processing. SOLUTION: This fixing device includes: a fixing roller 20; and an electromagnetic coil 23 to which the electric power for heating the fixing roller 20 is supplied, wherein a time-varied temperature of the fixing roller 20 is detected by a temperature sensor 24 until the electric power supply to the electromagnetic coil 23 is restarted after the stop of the electric power supply to the electromagnetic coil 23, and in restarting the electric power supply to the electromagnetic coil 23, the electric power to be supplied to the electromagnetic coil 23 is determined based on the time-varied temperature of the fixing roller 20 while the supply of electric power to the electromagnetic coil 23 is stopped.
