PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of making a homogeneous temperature distribution in a large storage compartment. SOLUTION: The refrigerator 1 comprises a storage compartment 2 to keep materials in stock, a cooler 11 to produce cool air fed to the storage compartment 2, a cool air passage 32 provided on the back of the storage compartment 2 to flow cool air from the cooler 11, a member 101 covering the front of the cool air passage 32 and transferring cold energy of cool air passing through the cool air passage 32 into the storage compartment 2, and a heat insulating member 102f placed to cover the cool air passage 32 through which cool air flows, wherein the cool air passage 3 is equipped with a first air passage 32a through which cool air from the cooler 11 goes up and a second air passage 32b communicating with the first air passage 32a to send cool air and extending below the storage compartment 2 to guide the cool air to the outside of the storage compartment 2 before the cool air returns to the cooler 11.
