PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security function by using hardware already provided on the side of an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an image input section 2 and an image output section 4 and outputs a visible image from the image output section 4, based on image information inputted from the image input section 2. Further, the image forming apparatus includes a reading processing section 3 and a header information detecting section 5 (operation mode detecting means), which detect an operation mode from the inputted image information, and reads a paper printed in such a manner that the operation mode is previously converted into predetermined information, by the image input section 2 and the image output section 4 outputs an image according to the operation mode read by the image input section 2 and detected by the header information detecting section 5.
