<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus having a cleaning means capable of frequently cleaning a platen supporting a recording sheet with a non-disfeatured brushing surface with ease and for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: The inkjet recording apparatus is provided with the platen supporting the recording sheet at a position facing a recording head mounted on a carriage and a cleaning means disposed movably in the direction of carriage movement for cleaning the platen. The cleaning means has a brushing member rolled around a pair of core members so as to wind to take up and transfer in the direction of crossing the direction of carriage movement, and a pressing member for pressing the blushing member to the platen.
