The invention provides water-resistant acrylic emulsion pressure sensitive adhesive polymers containing particles having a mean ''volume-average'' particle diameter of greater than about 210 nm for use in label and tape application are provided. The emulsion polymers exhibit an increase in opacity of less than about 10%.
