<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for preventing the opening of an upper cover member in the case of opening an original press member regardless of the slide position of an image reading device. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a device main body 1 in which an image recording part 2 is installed; an openable/closeable upper cover member 18 covering the upper face of the device main body; and an image reading device 30 installed with a space between itself and the upper cover member above the upper cover member 18, wherein a platen cover 31 and an upper cover member 18 of the image reading device are both configured as devices which open and close in the same direction. The image reading device 30 is mounted on the device main body so as to move slidingly along the face of the upper cover member 18, and provided with a lock mechanism which prevents the upper cover member 18 from opening when the platen cover 31 opens in a region where the image reading device 30 moves slidingly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
