SPACE-TIME CODING/DECODING METHOD FOR MULTI-ANTENNA PULSE TYPE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A space-time coding/decoding method in a multiple - antenna pulse type communication system is provided not to need encoded pulse transmission in case modulation supporting signals are a TH- UWB(Time Hopping-Ultra Wide Band) type. A space-time coder(310) codes block of information symbols belonging to 2-PPM modulation alphabet with the sequence of vectors. Each vector is related to the UWB antenna(3301-3304) which is given with the given transmission channel use. Each component of vector is corresponded to the PPM modulation constellation. The vectors are obtained from the element of the matrices of less than. The line of the matrices is corresponding to the use of the transmission channel one. The row of the matrices is corresponded to one UWB antenna. A plurality of modulators(3201-3204) modulate the UWB pulse signal location. Each modulator is related to the UWB antenna through the components related to the vector to the channel use and the UWB antenna while using the transmission channel. The UWB antenna radiates the signal modulated in the related modulator.
