PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve combustion stability by generating a large volume of plasma in an auxiliary combustion chamber with small energy consumption. SOLUTION: This combustion control device of an internal combustion engine comprises a main combustion chamber 1, the auxiliary combustion chamber 12 formed adjacent to the main combustion chamber 1 and smaller in volume than the main combustion chamber 1, a partition wall 19 for forming the auxiliary combustion chamber 12, a nozzle hole 20 formed at the partition wall 19 and allowing the main combustion chamber 1 to communicate with the auxiliary combustion chamber 12, an ignition plug 13 installed in the auxiliary combustion chamber 12, and a magnetic field intensity reinforcing means 16 for reinforcing magnetic field intensity in the auxiliary combustion chamber 12. When an air-fuel mixture is ignited, the magnetic field intensity around the discharge gap 13a of the ignition plug 13 is enhanced by the magnetic field reinforcing means 16 at least during the discharge of the ignition plug 13.
