PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of an electric washing machine having a bubble detection sensor that the operation of the washing machine is stopped in the middle or the washing is not excellently performed when the bubble detection sensor does not function normally. SOLUTION: The bubble detection sensor 26 can detect bubbles caused by water supply when water is supplied to a cleaning tank 3. Thus, every time water is supplied, it is determined by an abnormality determining means whether or not the bubble detection sensor 26 normally functions. When the abnormality determining means determines that the bubble detection sensor 26 does not function normally, a bubble detection NG flag is turned on. When the bubble detection NG flag is on, in the step of washing, rinsing, or spin-drying, correction control is performed so that inconveniences by the bubbles are not caused.
