<p>A heat expandable baffle for sealing automotive cavities comprising a carrier plate (21) with an outer perimeter (23) and a strand (25) of a heat expandable material along the major part of the outer perimeter, this strand circumscribing a central section of the carrier plate which is not covered by the heat expandable material, the outer perimeter defining a mean plane (27) limited by the outer perimeter, the central section (22) of the carrier plate being bent away from the mean plane in a way that the point on the central section which has the greatest distance from the mean plane lies at a distance (h) from the mean plane which is at least 5 % of the maximum linear length of the carrier plate, and/or the central section having a lumped mass distribution.</p> |
