<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system in which a butterfly valve can be appropriately controlled, even if the inside of the butterfly valve is frozen. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system is provided with a fuel cell stack 10, the butterfly valve 32 arranged in a cathode off-gas passage; a starting instruction means for instructing starting of the fuel cell stack; a starting position detecting means to detect the fully-open and/or fully-closed positions of the butterfly valve 32 at the time of starting, when the starting instruction means instructs starting; a first memory means which stores the full-open and/or full close positions at the time of starting, when the difference between the full-open and/or full close positions at starting, and the reference positions is larger than the prescribed difference; a temperature sensor 43 to detect temperatures T11 of the butterfly valve 32; and a freezing determination means to judge existence of freezing of the butterfly valve 32, based on the temperature T11 of the butterfly valve 32. While the freezing determination means determines that the butterfly valve 32 is frozen, the butterfly valve 32 is controlled with the fully-open and/or fully-close positions at starting as a limiting value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
