PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projector which suppresses a projected image from being viewed dazzlingly, when an image is projected onto a gloss projection surface. SOLUTION: In the image projector 1 projecting the image onto a projection surface, when the glossiness of the projection surface detected in a projection surface state detecting section 10 is a prescribed glossiness or more, a control section 11 regulates the projection of the image to a preset area, for instance, the projection angle of the image is changed or reduced by an attitude control section 14, to avoid the preset area and to project the image, or the intensity of a light source is reduced to decrease the brightness of the image projected to the preset area.
