PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a useful method which employs both an APCI/MS (atmospheric pressure chemical ionization/mass spectrometer) and an EI/MS (electron impact/mass spectrometer) to carry out a disease marker search using MSs for a sample having a small number of disease marker components contained in a plurality kinds of background components, needs two MSs and makes its system cost high. SOLUTION: In an MS having an ion source which can switch the APCI and the EI, a first GC (gas chromatography) which can separate the sample in a condition suitable for an APCI measurement, is connected to the upstream of the APCI ion source. A portion of the sample separated by the first GC is introduced into a second GC by branching a channel. Furthermore, a target substance and the background components contained in the sample are separated by the second GC, and introduced into the EI ion source. An EI spectrum of the target substance can be obtained without being affected by the background components, by separating the target substance from the background components.
