<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer receiving sheet at low cost, which is suitable for a dye thermal transfer printer, has sufficient strength to the compression of a receiving sheet, generates no recess in the receiving sheet and can obtain high printing density and good uniform images. <P>SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer receiving sheet wherein an intermediate layer containing hollow particles and an image receiving layer are successively formed at least on one surface of a sheet-like support, the intermediate layer contains two types of hollow particles A, B different in a mean particle diameter, and the mean particle diameters L<SB>A</SB>(μm), L<SB>B</SB>(μm) of the respective hollow particles simultaneously satisfy expressions (1) to (3); L<SB>A</SB>=2 to 35 μm (1), L<SB>B</SB>=0.2 to 9 μm, (2), and 0.05≤L<SB>B</SB>/L<SB>A</SB>≤0.4 (3). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
