A connector for connecting panel supporting bars to a ridge beam or wall plate end of a hipped roof has two parts 140, 148 which are angularly adjustable relative to each other to provide a first location of roof pitch adjustment. One of the parts 148 is connectable to the ridge beam or wall plate end in such a manner as to provide a second location of roof pitch variation or adjustment. The second location of roof pitch variation may be provided by a pivoting connection which may be provided by a hook-like formation 150 on one of the components 148 engaging with a mounting element 30 on the ridge beam or wall plate end. The connection between the two connector parts 140, 148 may be infinitely adjustable or may be adjustable in discrete steps. The angle between the connector parts 140, 148 may be fixed after adjustment by a clamping bolt 202. Alternatively or additionally the connector parts 140, 148 may be fixed in an angular setting by a bolt or pin extending through locking apertures 206. The locking apertures may be drilled once the angle has been set or may be pre-drilled to produce a predetermined angle setting.
