In a wireless transportation system in which cars equipped with a rechargeable battery run, the state-of-charge of the rechargeable battery is predicted on-line accurately to prevent the rechargeable battery from being overcharged or overdischarged. A state-of-charge prediction program is for predicting the state of charge SOC of a vehicle-mounted rechargeable battery (14) by a computer. The prediction program allows the computer to set on-line from the measured values of the current and voltage of the rechargeable battery the equivalent circuit element values constituted of a first resistance component R1 affected by an instantaneous current variation, circuit components having a capacitance C and a second resistance component R2 and affected by a slow transient response, and an open-circuit voltage E. The prediction program also allows the computer to calculate a potential Vc of the circuit component from the actual measurement values of the first resistance component R1, k=(the second resistance component)/(the first resistance component), and d=(the capacitance)x(the second resistance component), calculate the open-circuit voltage E from the potential Vc, and calculate the state of charge SOC from the open-circuit voltage E.
|
