A method for preparing a polycarbonate resin is provided to obtain a polycarbonate resin having light transmittance and low thermal expansion coefficient while not hindering an optical property of polycarbonate, by using an organic and inorganic hybrid method. A method for preparing a polycarbonate resin comprises a step for manufacturing a raw material mixture including a polycarbonate monomer having an epoxy end, silica particles and amine curing agent; and a step for reacting a raw material mixture. The average molecular weight of a polycarbonate monomer is 400-50,000. The main chain of the polycarbonate monomer comprises at least one of repeating units indicated as the following chemical formula 1-3. The silica particle has the average particle diameter of 5-900 nm.
