<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the frequency of learning of a relation between target fuel injection quantity and actual fuel injection quantity of an intra-exhaust pipe fuel injection valve with avoiding influence of O<SB>2</SB>storage function in a NOx storage catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: When an engine is in a steady operation state (S10), fuel is injected from the intra-exhaust pipe fuel injection valve in a range keeping exhaust gas air-fuel ratio lean (S12), actual fuel injection quantity Qft from the intra-exhaust pipe fuel injection valve is operated based on air-fuel ratio detected by the air-fuel ratio sensor at that time (S20), and the relation between the actual fuel injection quantity Qfr and the target fuel injection quantity of the intra-exhaust pipe fuel injection valve is learned (S22). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
