The invention relates to a door hinge with an arrester for motor vehicles, having a pillar fitting that can be disposed on a vehicle chassis, a door fitting that can be connected to a vehicle door, and a hinge pin connecting the door fitting and the pillar fitting in a pivoting manner, wherein the arrester is attached either the door or pillar fitting and wherein the hinge pin is disposed on the other of the door or pillar fitting in a rotationally secure manner and is rotatably disposed in the arrester. In order to provide a door hinge with an arrester of the kind mentioned above that allows a step-free adjustment of a vehicle door into any arbitrary opening position, the invention proposes that the arrester comprise two chambers that are separated from each other by an adjustable separating element in a liquid-tight fashion, said chambers being filled with a fluid medium, wherein the separating element is disposed in the arrester and connected to the hinge pin such that a rotational movement of the hinge pin relative to the arrester results in an adjustment movement of the separating element causing a change in volume in the chambers, and wherein the chambers are connected to each other via flow through channels that are closed by valve elements.
