INKJET IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

An inkjet image forming apparatus is provided to minimize line distortion in an image output when a head chip having an abnormal gap is controlled in a first mode so as to improve image degradation. An inkjet image forming apparatus includes a print head, a storage unit and a controller. The print head includes a plurality of head chips composed of nozzles in double arrangements. The storage unit stores position information and gap information of head chips having a normal gap and head chips having an abnormal gap. The controller controls the head chips having the normal gap in a first mode in which print data in first and second rows is simultaneously printed in basic vertical resolution and controls the head chips having the abnormal gap in a second mode in which the print data is printed in vertical resolution twice the basic vertical resolution.
