<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which avoids the image height deviation of a formed spot, with respect to the defocus of an optical system caused by the variation of the relative position of the optical systems in a line head. <P>SOLUTION: The line head 4Y of the image forming apparatus 1 includes: a glass substrate 450 on which a plurality of light emitting element group lines L410 configured in such a manner that light emitting element groups 410 having a plurality of light emitting elements 411 emitting a luminous flux respectively are separately arranged in one direction are arranged in the other direction orthogonal to the one direction; and a plurality of microlens arrays 432 which are arranged to face the light emitting element groups 410 one-on-one and receive the luminous flux emitted from the plurality of light emitting elements 411 belonging to the respective facing light emitting groups 410, to form the erect images of the respective light emitting elements 411 on a surface 200.
