PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unnecessary radiation and noise generated by a display device and to reduce influence of external noise on display quality. SOLUTION: In a display device having a main LCD 14 with a display screen for displaying images corresponding to image data and an SW-LCD 12 disposed closer to an observer side than to the display screen and controlling the viewing angle of the images displayed on the display screen, the SW-LCD 12 has substrates 21 and 22 disposed opposite each other, a liquid crystal layer 23 sandwiched between the substrates 21 and 22, and a COM electrode 26 provided to the substrate 21 and an SEG electrode 27 provided to the substrate 22, and a control unit which changes the alignment state of liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer 23 by controlling a voltage applied between both the electrodes 26 and 27 to control the viewing angle to ground the COM electrode 26.
