PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device provided with a display part by effectively making the most of a dead space. SOLUTION: This electronic device has a mounting part 170 on which portable equipment 10 can be mounted. The electronic device has a display part 131 provided in the mounting part 170, a detecting part 200 for detecting the mounting of the portable equipment 10, and a control part 140 for making the display part 131 display information when the detecting part 200 detects separation of the portable equipment 10 from the mounting part 170. Information therefore can be displayed on the display part 131 of the on-vehicle equipment 100, even when the portable equipment 10 is separated from the on-vehicle equipment 100 and information can not be displayed on the portable equipment 10 from the on-vehicle equipment 100.
