PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the attachment/detachment of an electronic endoscope and allow a user to easily construct a suitable electronic endoscope system according to a budget and a purpose in an electronic endoscope apparatus having a light source for feeding an illumination light to the endoscope and a processor for processing image signals output from the electronic endoscope. SOLUTION: This electronic endoscope apparatus is configured such that either one alone out of the light source device and the processor is directly connected to the electronic endoscope and the other out of the light source device and the processor which is not directly connected to the electronic endoscope is connected to one directly connected to the electronic endoscope.
