PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lash adjuster capable of reducing the resistance of an adjust screw. SOLUTION: A serrated female screw 22 is formed in the opening end inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical body 21. A serrated male screw 24 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the adjust screw 23 is screwed to the female screw 22. A coiled spring 25 for biasing the adjust screw outward is incorporated in the body 21. A ball 26 is so incorporated between a small diameter coil end 25a formed at the end of the coiled spring 25 and the opposed part of the adjust screw 23 as to be brought into point contact with the lower surface of the adjust screw 23.
