PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-durability hydrogen separation membrane and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of a hydrogen separation membrane with a structure having a compact layer deposited and charged to a porous substrate, it is characterized by manufacturing a micropore charging type separation membrane having the compact layer at the constant depth from the surface by comprising steps of covering a protection porous material layer 1 to the substrate surface layer, conducting the activation treatment of the same, removing the protection porous material layer 1, covering a protection porous material layer 2 to the substrate layer thereon and conducting the electroless plating of a metal.
