PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive armor of an optical element, which is a subassembly armor connectable to a multicore optical fiber regardless of the form of light source such as end face light emitting type or face light emitting type, and the type of optical fiber such as single mode or multimode, in which an active alignment is unnecessary in manufacturing and electric lead wires may be short and at the same time the optical element is isolated from outside. SOLUTION: The armor has a form and a connection mechanism which are mutually supplementary with existing standard ferrule for multicore optical fiber, and main material which is similar to that of the standard ferrule, and the armor is combined with a mechanism in which the positioning of the optical element is simplified.
