PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF GRADE AA METHANOL

The invention relates to a process for the production of grade AA methanol by distilling raw methanol in several distillation stages, thereby separating grade AA methanol, tail gas, and fusel oil. The methanol produced in commercial-scale synthesis plants does not correspond to grade AA. Therefore, the product must be treated in an additional distillation stage in order to reduce the methanol losses due to fusel oil. The aim of the invention can be achieved by distilling said fusel oil in an additional distillation stage at a return ratio of 5:1 or higher.
