<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operation efficiency in associating an electronic bin tag with merchandise. <P>SOLUTION: An operator acquires a merchandise code by a portable information acquisition terminal near merchandise to be associated (step S1). The read merchandise code is transmitted to an ESL server, and merchandise information is returned from the ESL server in response thereto. The returned merchandise information is printed on a label by a printer connected to the information acquisition terminal (step S3). The operator attaches the printed label to an electronic bin tag to be associated (step S4). Thus, the electronic bin tag is visually associated with the merchandise.
