PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antistatic agent having not only a high antistatic function, but also transparency, dissolvability to a resin or solvent (compatibility) and heat resistance simultaneously and without containing a metal or metal ion. SOLUTION: This antistatic agent consists of a pyrazinium borate such as e.g. 2,5-dimethyl-1-(2-oxo-2-phenyl-ethyl)pyrazin-1-ium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl) borate and 1-(2-(4-bromophenyl)-2-oxoethyl)pyrazin-1-ium tetraphenyl borate.
