PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device that is excellent in steering operability and allows switching between a front-wheel steering mode and a rear-wheel steering mode. SOLUTION: The steering device is provided with: a steering input means 10, which has an operating member 12 moved on an operating face 10s by an operator when the operator executes steering operation and a steering operation amount detecting means 14 for detecting a moving amount of the operating member 12 as a steering operation amount (a steering angleθ<SB>ST</SB>); a steering mode setting means (an electronic controller 40) for setting a front-wheel steering mode, in which front wheels WFL, WFR become steered wheels, and a rear-wheel steering mode, in which rear wheels WRL, WRR become steered wheels, by switching between them; a target turning-angle setting means (the electronic controller 40) for setting a target turning angleθ<SB>req</SB>of the steered wheels as control targets on the basis of the detected steering operation amount; a front-wheel turning-angle imparting means 20, which allows the front wheels to be turned at the target turning angleθ<SB>req</SB>without mechanical coupling with the steering input means 10 when the front-wheel steering mode is selected; and a rear-wheel turning-angle imparting means 30 that allows the rear wheels to be turned at the target turning angleθ<SB>req</SB>without mechanical coupling with the steering input means 10 when the rear-wheel steering mode is selected.
