PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately present necessary information to a user while maintaining the visibility of a map. SOLUTION: The car navigation device 1 is structured so that a map screen is displayed on a display panel 2 with the present position 5 of a vehicle shown on the map 4 while the screen displayed on the display panel 2 is touch-operable. This navigation device 1 is equipped with a storage part 14 and a control part 10. The position of a sightseeing area and season information are stored in the storage part 14, with the season information being on sightseeing facilities existing in the sightseeing area and corresponding to a present season or time. The control part 10 is used for detecting whether the vehicle has entered the sightseeing area and displaying a season information button 70 in the map 4 on the display panel 2 for giving instructions that the season information is displayed on the sightseeing facilities while the vehicle is situated in the sightseeing area, when the vehicle is detected in the sightseeing area.
