<p>A device for reading optical data cards (38). This device includes a shuttle (54) mounted on shuttle tracks (28, 46) within the device housing (12). The shuttle (54) is configured to move back and forth on the shuttle tracks (28, 46) driven by the shuttle motor (74). A card loader (124, 128) allows optical data cards (38) to be positioned onto the shuttle (54). A CD optical read head (104) mounted on optical read head tracks (106, 112) and driven by an optical head motor (100) is modified to read a single track of optical card data and reads the optical card (38). A controller receives data from the read head (104) and controls the movement of the shuttle and the optical head (104).</p> |
