An object is to prevent erroneous discharge in a method for driving a plasma display panel having three electrodes on a front surface glass substrate and a plasma display device. The plasma display panel comprises a first substrate in which a maintaining electrode and a scanning electrode, a dielectric layer, an address electrode provided extending in a direction intersecting with the maintaining electrode, and a protection layer are sequentially laminated and a second substrate arranged in opposition to the first substrate via a discharge space. A dividing wall extending in the direction intersecting with the maintaining electrode is formed on the second substrate. One edge of the address electrode is positioned on the dividing wall. The other edge of the address electrode is positioned on the discharge space. In an address period, a driving unit applies a scan pulse which functions as a positive electrode to the scanning electrode and applies an address pulse which functions as a negative electrode to the address electrode.
