摘要 A personal authentication medium having an image which is excellent in the forgery/alteration preventing performance aspect and facilitates the determination of authenticity is provided, an image formation method used in the personal authentication medium is provided, and a determination apparatus for the personal authentication medium is provided. A personal authentication medium(5) comprises: a substrate(4); and a pearl pigment ink image layer(3) formed on the substrate by using two or more inks selected from one of a group consisting of a thermal transfer fusion ink containing pearl pigment having a yellow interference color, a thermal transfer fusion ink containing pearl pigment having a magenta interference color, and a thermal transfer fusion ink containing pearl pigment having a cyan interference color, and a group consisting of a thermal transfer fusion ink containing pearl pigment having a red interference color, a thermal transfer fusion ink containing pearl pigment having a green interference color, and a thermal transfer fusion ink containing pearl pigment having a blue interference color. A distance between centers of dots or lines forming the pearl pigment ink image layer, or a distance between the centers of the lines forming the pearl pigment ink image layer is 0.5 to 100 times of the maximum particle size in average particle sizes of the pearl pigment used.
