The invention relates to means used to raise and/or lower people in housings, residential buildings, etc. More particularly the invention refers to a fastening ladder with sliding step which may be fastened to as window or wall depending on the users needs, the ladder including a fastening means adjustable to the area where the ladder is to be fastened; a couple of lateral supports with a groove wherein the lateral protrusions of a sliding step are inserted, the sliding step comprising an inner crane-type mechanism with a sliding bar or step which has motion freedom and a travel not larger that the size of the lateral supports thereof. The invention includes two hollow transversal bars, the first bar being located at the upper portion of the lateral supports and the second bar at the lower portion thereof; a vertical guide axis located between said hollow transversal bars, a tube being inserted into said hollow bars which has a spring at the outer portion thereof that is useful for ac tuating an ascending and descending mechanism by means of air; a step control formed by boxes with tensioned threads and hooks acting as stop members for controlling said step, also being useful for locking and unlocking the step when required.<="ti
