COMPOSITE RETARDATION PLATE, ITS PRODUCTION METHOD, COMPOSITE OPTICAL MEMBER AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

There is provided a composite retardation plate (10) comprising a first retardation plate (11)/a primer layer (12)/a second retardation plate (14)/a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (19) which are laminated in this order, in which the second retardation plate (14) is obtained by evaporating an organic solvent from a coating liquid containing an organic modified clay complex and a binder resin in an organic solvent. The composite retardation plate (10) of the present invention can effectively suppress light leakage attributed to the cracking of the second retardation plate (14), liable to occur because of an external physical force, when laminated on a liquid crystal cell, because the first retardation plate (11) and the second retardation plate (14) are laminated on each other through the primer layer (12). Thus, it becomes possible to provide a sufficient display condition.
