PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce the amount of thickness reduction without bringing about an increase in compressive driving force in compressive bending work of a metallic tube. SOLUTION: In the bending device of the metallic tube which is provided with: a heating means for annularly heating a portion of the metallic tube of an object to be worked; a propelling means for propelling the metallic tube toward the heating means; a guide means which includes a clamp arm with which the metallic tube is held and which is also turnable around a pivot, the front portion of the heated portion of the metallic tube by the heating means is held with the clamp arm, with which this holding point is turned around the pivot attended with the propelling of the metallic tube by the propelling means and bending moment is added to the metallic tube in this way; and a compressing means by which compressive force is made to act on the metallic tube by adding pulling-back force which is force in the direction opposite to the propelling direction of the metallic tube by the propelling means to the metallic tube via the clamp arm by taking the pivot as a fulcrum, the compressing means is arranged so that the distance between the applying point of the pulling-back force and the pivot is larger than the distance between the clamping point of the metallic tube with the clamp arm and the pivot.
