A CAT(Card Authentication Terminal) magnetic stripe reader module for preventing leakage of card payment information, and an information processing method thereof are provided to protect card information output from the magnetic stripe reader module from hacking and protect credit card information from a payment section from the CAT to a VAN(Value Added Network) server. An F2F(Two frequency coherent phase) decoder(430) converts a 2-frequency normal signal, which is card information read from a header of a magnetic reader into code information. An ID checker(440) checks whether a terminal ID received from a CAT is identical with the terminal ID stored in a non-volatile memory(420). A card information encryptor encrypts the card information converted in the F2F decoder. An authentication value generator(460) generates an authentication value of the magnetic stripe leader module.
