PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple, compact and speed-variable electric motor. SOLUTION: In the electric motor, each of four brushes 21 includes two pairs of a positive pole brushes 40 and a negative pole brushes 41, each positive brushes 40 includes a first positive brush 40a and a second positive brush 40b arranged in a circumferential direction in an insulated state, each negative brushes 41 includes a first negative brush 41a and a second negative brush 41b arranged in the circumferential direction in an insulated state, a first switch 50a is provided between the first positive brush 40a and a power supply E, a second switch 50b is provided between the second positive pole brush 40b and the power supply E.
