A composition comprising the extract of Phellinus linteus is provided to inhibit the activity of aldose reductase and production of glycation end product, thereby preventing or treating the diabetic complication. The composition for prevention or treatment of diabetic complication comprises 0.1-99 wt.% of the extract of Phellinus linteus as an active ingredient, which is extracted with one or more kinds of extraction solvent selected from the group consisting of water, alcohol having the carbon number of 1-5, ethylacetate, hexane, dichloromethane, acetone, chloroform, methylene chloride and their mixture.
