[Also in Divisions H3 and H4] In a transistorized radio receiver a rectangular printed circuit plate 1 is used which also forms the chassis of the loud-speaker, the magnet 4 of which is mounted in an aperture in the centre of the plate 1. The diaphragm 7, which may be rectangular (Fig. 1b, not shown) being formed with channels which are radial to the outside periphery but tangential to the inner periphery, or circular (Fig. 3a, not shown) is attached at its edge to the plate 1. The plate is supported at its edges by means of supports 8 attached to the metallic outer case 9 which is provided with a separate battery compartment 12. The plate 1 may be formed with passages so as to modify the loud-speaker response (Fig. 2b, not shown), while the speaker diaphragm may be attached to a separate carrying ring (Fig. 3d, not shown) which is supported by the plate 1. According to the Specification the invention may be applied to other electronic apparatus and the loud-speaker may be replaced by a microphone.</p> |
