A storage device (100) which stores reproduction permission/no permission data (160a) that represents information about whether a reproduction of the data stored in a disc (110) is permitted or not into a storage unit (160), judges whether or not abnormal condition occurs in the reproduction data that is a reproduction target when obtaining a reproduction command for reproducing the data stored in the storage device (100), and outputs substitution data that is substituted for the reproduction data to a higher-level device according to the judgment result and the reproduction permission/no permission data (160a). The storage device (100) outputs the data via an interface connector.
