PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum brake device, capable of facilitating installation to an vehicle, preventing generation of over-adjustment, and also miniaturizing the device by simplifying the structure of a wheel cylinder, and reducing the liquid amount, etc. SOLUTION: The drum brake device 200 automatically adjusts a clearance between a brake shoe and a brake inner peripheral surface in non-braking by the rotation of an adjuster gear 45 having a second cog 45a engaged with the other end of a strut 41. In braking when operating force W from the wheel cylinder 5 exceeds predetermined force, a control lever 51 disposed between the wheel cylinder 5 and an end of the other brake shoe 4 is rotated by the operating force W of the wheel cylinder 5 to prevent over-adjustment by securing the state of engagement between the strut 41 and the adjuster gear 45.
