A gear mechanism for driving screws of a twin-screw extruder comprising two parallel output shafts (1, 2) of different lengths, the longer output shaft (1) of which carries a drive gear wheel (3). The short output shaft (2) is connected by way of a pinion (6) in a rotationally fixed manner to three gear wheels (10, 11, 12), which can be driven by the longer output shaft (1) by way of a hollow wheel (20) provided with internal toothing (19). Seated on the longer output shaft (1) is a pinion (5) that is in direct engagement with the pinion (6) of the shorter output shaft (2). The hollow wheel (20) is also provided with external toothing (21), which is in engagement with gear wheels (22, 23) of two intermediate shafts (24, 25), which mesh with the drive gear wheel (3) by way of further gear wheels (26, 27). |
