The invention relates to an apparatus with a furnace for the thermal treatment of gases, a gas chromatograph, or some other device for separating gaseous constituents, arranged upstream and/or downstream of the furnace, and with a connection between two capillaries, which are provided for the onward transfer of an analyte in the gas phase, wherein one of the two capillaries is a reactor tube arranged in the furnace.
