<p>Arc welding, especially MSG welding, process uses a flat wire electrode (10). A magnetic field with at least one longitudinal and at least one transverse component to control the arc (20) so that it burns uniformly across the width (12) of the electrode tip. An independent claim is included for use of a protective gas containing at least one of argon, helium, carbon dioxide, oxygen and/or nitrogen in arc welding, especially MSG welding of steel and/or non-ferrous metals.</p> |
