The bowl-like housing part (12) has grooves acting as openings for a holding clamp (27) near to its open end. The grooves run in a radial plane and lie diametrically to the housing part. The lid (14) inserted in the housing part has an annular groove (24) in the radial plane. The holding clamp has a bent section (32, 33) on both sides (28, 29) penetrating the grooves, by which the holding clamp is locked in the annular groove of the lid. Liquid filter has a housing for a filter insert and connections for inlets and outlets. The housing consists of a bowl-like housing part and with a lid inserted in it. The housing and the lid are connected to each other using a fixing device so that they can be detached. The fixing device is a U-shaped holding clamp arranged in a plane running radially to the longitudinal axis of the housing and penetrating openings in the housing part and in the lid with both sides so that both parts are fixed to each other in the axial direction.
