The method involves managing group of images acquired as units, and limiting utilization of preset operations e.g. processing operation, to all the images in the group. The images are organized according to a hierarchy comprising document level, group level and single image level. A document is defined as a unit that includes a set of successive groups of images. Two series of operations e.g. trimming operations, are respectively limited to be used on the document level and the group level, and a third series of operations is limited to be used on the image level. An independent claim is also included for a computer program product directly loaded in a memory of a computer, comprising software code instructions for executing a method for managing a group of images.
