A cell search method of a wireless communication system is provided to improve the performance of detecting a synchronous channel or control channel, and increase the amount of control information which is loaded on the control channel or the capacity of a terminal. The first S-SCH and second S-SCH exchange the locations of the first SSC and second SSC by combining the first SSC and the second SSC. The SSCs of each S-SCH performs the scrambling by using different scrambling codes to obtain the interference averaging effect. Consequently, the ambiguity due to the SSC detection is reduced.
